Senior journalist of Blitz, Mahboob Ar Rahman will be always remembered by colleagues in this newspaper, not only for his contributions but for the affection and love all of us have received from him. To our editor, he has always been a great friend.
Mahboob Ar Rahman left his last breath on December 16, 2018.
In 2005, Mahboob Ar Rahman joined the Blitz family. He has been a source of inspiration to all of us. Although he was much senior in age to most of us, he never let us feel the age gap. Instead, he was the most charming and energetic member of the team with vast knowledge and experience. He had particularly been extremely active in our Bangla publication and Rahman’s command in Bangla was formidable.
Last time we met him was at the residence of our editor on December 14. None of us could even imagine, this man is about to leave us in less than 48 hours. Remembering that day, Blitz team member Faridul Alam Farid said, “He was just that very authentic Mahboob bhai filled with the sense of humors and joys. Even on that day, he had joined our editor in making a plan for further expanding the Blitz. Who knew, this was our last meeting. Life truly is peculiar and like a novel. As I am remembering him now, his signature smile still appears in front of my eyes. May God rest his soul in eternal peace.”
Hailing from Shatkhira district, Mahboob Ar Rahman left his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren alongside hundreds of friends and admirers.
