Bloomberg: Japan has set an anti-record for the birth rate

American news agency Bloomberg With reference to data from the Ministry of Health of Japan, it announces the establishment of a new anti-record in the Land of the Rising Sun in terms of the number of children born per year. According to published data, the number of newborns in 2022 decreased to 799,728, which is 5.1% less than a year earlier. The number of deaths rose by 8.9% to 1.58 million over the same period.

Rising spending on caring for the elderly, who make up the largest percentage of the population compared to the rest of the world, is draining Japan’s budget, helping to turn it into the most indebted country. The Japanese government is actively developing measures to increase the birth rate to overcome the demographic crisis, but, as follows from the data obtained, to no avail.
