13 Bangladeshi nationals living illegally in Maharashtra arrested
Navi Mumbai Police in Maharashtra has arrested 13 Bangladeshi nationals, including five women, on charges of staying in the country illegally. The in-charge of Khandeshwar police station said that these foreigners were detained from Khanda Colony of New Panvel on Tuesday night. He said that the Bangladeshi nationals were living there without visa or passport for the last one year. According to the police officer, those arrested were booked on Wednesday under the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act.
Supreme Court directs Center and States to set up sexual harassment committees
The Supreme Court on Friday directed the central and state governments to examine in a time-bound manner whether sexual harassment committees have been constituted in all ministries and departments. The Supreme Court said that there are serious lapses in the implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment Act (PoSH) of 2013. A bench of Justices AS Bopanna and Hima Kohli said that an improperly constituted sexual harassment committee would be a hindrance in conducting an inquiry at the workplace.
DGCA suspends Air India pilot’s license, company fined 30 lakhs
The DGCA suspended the license of the pilot of Air India’s Dubai-Delhi flight on February 27 for three months. DGCA said that Air India pilots had called their girlfriends in the cockpit.
