Durgapur. Calcutta High Court Justice Amrita Sinha on Thursday allowed the Central Investigation Agency (CBI and ED) to interrogate Trinamool Congress MP cum National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in the teacher recruitment scam. Along with this, a fine of Rs 25 lakh was also imposed on Abhishek for wasting the court’s time. In view of this decision, Abhishek said that he has full faith in the law. He is ready to face any investigating agency.
Reacting on Thursday to the Calcutta High Court’s verdict in the teacher recruitment scam case, Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that he has full faith in the law. He is ready to face any investigating agency. On being summoned, he will postpone the Navjwar Jan Sanyog Yatra and go to the agency’s office and cooperate in the investigation. Mr. Banerjee said these things in Durgapur before leaving for Bankura. He said that the way to go to the division bench or the Supreme Court is open against the decision of the High Court. He will go to the Supreme Court in this matter.
Along with teacher recruitment scam, the investigation agency can investigate coal, cattle smuggling, Saradha chit fund in any case. Abhishek said that he is ready to answer the agency in all matters, but regrets that the investigation agency does not look serious against BJP leaders involved in corruption and scams. He said that if the door of the Bench or the Supreme Court is open, he will definitely go there too. Expressing concern over the imposition of fine, he said that there is no fine for those who file PILs, who plead for protection when people die in the convoy, they are not fined.
