In the Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey suicide case, a case has been registered against Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh on charges of abetment to suicide. Sarnath Police Station Dharampal Singh said on Monday that a case has been registered against Bhojpuri singer Samar Singh and his brother Sanjay Singh on charges of abetment to suicide on the complaint of Akanksha’s mother Madhu Dubey, who reached Varanasi from Mumbai.

Significantly, Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey was found dead on Sunday in a hotel room in Sarnath, Varanasi.

Akanksha Dubey’s body was found hanging from a noose attached to a dupatta on the fan. Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sarnath) Gyan Prakash Rai had said on Sunday that no suicide note was recovered from Akanksha’s room and prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide. Akanksha, a resident of Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, had come to Varanasi in connection with the shooting of a film and stayed in a hotel in Sarnath police station area.

When she did not come out of the room on Sunday morning, the hotel staff opened the gate of her room with the master key at the behest of her colleagues. Akanksha had acted in several regional films including ‘Kasam Padne Wale Ki 2’, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (Bhojpuri) and ‘Veeron Ke Veer’.

Bhojpuri film personalities like Rani Chatterjee, Vinay Anand and Amrapali Dubey have mourned Akanksha’s death through social media.
