Taiwan’s foreign ministry said China sent 25 fighter jets and three warships to the island nation on Wednesday morning. There is tension between Taiwan’s biggest supporters America and China regarding Taiwan.

The ministry said 19 of the 25 aircraft penetrated Taiwan’s air defense zone, while the movement of ships continued in the Taiwan Strait.

Taiwan claims it activated fighter jets, ships and coastal missile defense systems to “surveill and respond”.

China routinely conducts such incidents in what is referred to as “grey zone” tactics. Its purpose is to intimidate and unnecessarily use Taiwan’s equipment and publicly break their morale.

Taiwan has upgraded its fleet of F-16 fighter jets, ordering 66 more aircraft from the US, purchasing a range of other weapons and extending its mandatory term of military service for all men from four months to one year. Have prepared themselves for increased retaliatory action.

Explain that China claims that Taiwan is a part of it and opposes the visit of foreign officials to Taiwan.
