The Congress on Friday demanded constitution of a Vidhan Sabha committee to probe the alleged atrocities on tribals during the anti-Maoist operation in Odisha’s Nuapada district. During the Zero Hour discussion in the Vidhansabha, Congress Legislature Party leader Narsingh Mishra raised this issue.
Narsingh Mishra expressed concern over the plight of the people of Patghar village in Bheden area of Nuapada district. He said, “Villagers are leaving their homes, trapped between the security forces and the Maoists.”
The Congress leader alleged that atrocities on tribals have increased after the killing of three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Nuapada district on June 21 last year.
