Following his arrest, expelled Jubo League leader and godfather of crime, Ismail Chowdhury Samrat will be now taken into initial 20-day’s remand in two cases filed against him on October 7, 2019.

Showing Samrat arrested in two cases filed under Arms and Drug act, Ramna Police on October 7 late evening placed a remand petition before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Yasmin Ara seeking a 10-day remand for each case. Magistrate Yasmin Ara fixed Wednesday (October 9) to hear shown arrest and remand pleas.

Besides, police sought 10-day remand for Dhaka South city Jubo League Vice-president Enamul Haque Arman to quiz him in a drug-related case filed with Ramna Police station.

Meanwhile, a source in police headquarters told this correspondent at least 8 cases are being filed against Ismail Chowdhury Samrat and he would be taken into remand for interrogation in most of these cases.

On October 7, Samrat was sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj. It is learnt from prison sources that in prison he is seen busy throughout the day meeting several top terrorists, who are helping the crime godfather in communicating with various people inside and outside of Bangladesh. Sitting in prison, Samrat reportedly has given instructions to some of his trusted aides to organize “heavy gathering” in the court areas as well start massive campaign demanding his release.

It may be mentioned here that, hundreds of billboards and digital banners are on display for years at various parts of Dhaka city praising Samrat as a “great organizer”. Now those billboards and digital banners will be replaced with new ones demanding Ismail Chowdhury Samrat’s release.

Few of the key cohorts of Samrat also are continuing propaganda on social media in his favor while some of them have already started abusing the ruling party for “doing injustice” to Samrat.
