Deadly attack on Prime Minister of Japan, pipe bomb thrown during speech

Tokyo, April 15 (Hindustan Times). Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida narrowly escaped the deadly attack. A pipe bomb was hurled at him during his speech. The police took Kishida out safely before the bomb could explode. As soon as Kishida left, this pipe bomb exploded and there was chaos due to the loud explosion.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida was addressing a rally in support of his Liberal Democratic Party candidate in the city of Wakayama. Then a person hurled a pipe bomb at them. Vigilant security personnel took the Prime Minister out safely before the pipe bomb could reach him. Immediately after this there was a huge explosion. Because of this there was chaos in the assembly and people started running here and there.

Along with saving the Prime Minister, the effort to catch the attacker was also started. In a viral video of the incident, policemen are seen overpowering a man by pinning him to the ground. Security forces claimed that the prime minister was not hurt in the attack. The attack on Fumio Kishida comes just nine months after the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Shinzo was attacked in July 2022 by a man with a homemade gun. The former Prime Minister had died in this incident.
