New Delhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday to elect the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Karnataka. Rahul Gandhi Including consulted with many senior leaders of the party. Apart from him and Rahul Gandhi, party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala attended the meeting held at Kharge’s residence. Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar met Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence only after the meeting.

DK Shiv Kumar reached Delhi

On the other hand, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D.K. Shivkumar after reaching Delhi today met Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence. Shivkumar was supposed to come to Delhi on Monday itself, but citing stomach infection, he canceled his proposed trip. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is present in Delhi since Monday. Both these leaders are considered strong contenders for the post of Chief Minister.

And in Bengaluru, Shivakumar said, “The Congress party is my temple, the Congress party is our biggest strength, so no one needs to worry.”

Kharge was given the right to choose the leader of the legislature party

Kharge had appointed senior leaders Sushilkumar Shinde, Jitendra Singh and Deepak Babaria as observers to elect the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Karnataka. The three observers had to talk to the newly elected MLAs of the party separately to know their opinion and then they submitted their report to Kharge. The Congress Legislature Party meeting held at a private hotel in Bengaluru on Sunday evening unanimously passed a resolution empowering party president Kharge to choose the leader of the Legislature Party, who will become the next Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Expect concrete results from today’s meeting

In the elections held on May 10 to the 224-member assembly in the state, the Congress won 135 seats, while the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal (Secular) won 66 seats respectively. And won 19 seats. It is expected that after today’s meeting in Delhi, some concrete decisions will emerge.
