Following claims of sexual harassment at Delhi University’s Indraprastha (IP) Women’s College, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Monday said it has initiated an inquiry into allegations of inappropriate behavior towards women during a cultural event at the college.
The Women’s Commission has issued summons to Delhi Police and Delhi University officials, directing them to appear before the commission. Along with this, the Commission has also sought details of the guidelines issued by them and the steps taken to ensure that such cases do not recur in future.
The Women’s Commission said, “This inquiry is on all issues so that a strong system can be put in place to prevent such incidents in future.” Who was told Girl students of Delhi University’s Indraprastha College for Women alleged that last week, during a cultural program at the college, some men climbed the wall of the institute and “harassed many girl students”.
