Delhi Economic Survey: AAP government’s tax collection increased by 36 percent; Per capita income will increase by 14.18 percent

Finance Minister Kailash Gehlot in Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party government presented the Delhi Economic Review in the Assembly on Monday. According to the Economic Survey, per capita income at current prices in Delhi is expected to increase to Rs 3,89,529 in 2021-22 from Rs 3,31,112 in 2020-21.

Further, as per advance estimates, Delhi’s per capita income at current prices during 2022-23 will be Rs 4,44,768, which is 14.18 per cent higher than the previous fiscal. It said that the per capita income of Delhi has always been around 2.6 per cent higher than the national average.

The review further said, “Economic activity in Delhi has improved much faster than the national level. Real GDP of Delhi is projected to increase by 9.14 per cent and 9.18 per cent in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The review pointed out that the tax collection of the Delhi government also increased by 36 per cent during 2021-22. It had decreased by 19.53 percent in 2020-21 due to the Kovid-19 epidemic.
