March 23 - BLiTZ. Bulgaria plans to receive gas in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the US in April. The Bulgargaz company has booked slots for two tankers at the Revitus terminal, which are to deliver 143 million cubic meters of gas. At the same time, in March, Bulgaria continues to buy Russian gas from European traders.

Bulgargaz refused to switch to a new settlement mechanism, so Gazprom stopped deliveries. In February, the company announced a tender for the supply of non-Russian gas through Turkey, but has not yet announced the results.

Recall that Bulgaria, which previously refused Russia’s proposal to become a European gas hub, is now looking for ways to diversify its energy sources and depend not only on Russia. But despite this, a large percentage of the Bulgarian population continues to heat their homes with solid fuels.
