New Delhi, 21 April (Hindustan Times). The graph of fire incidents in the capital Delhi is increasing rapidly amid rising heat. Meanwhile, the fire department is getting around 125 calls daily. In which 80 to 90 calls are being made of fire. But by controlling the fire, the fire department team engaged in saving lives and property of the people is also saving a lot of lives of the speechless. Every day around 20 calls are received about animals and birds being stuck on trees and the fire brigade team is saving their lives by reaching those places.
In the month of April so far this summer, between April 1 and April 19, 310 cases of bird and animal rescue have been received by the Fire Control Room. In which the fire brigade team reached the spot and rescued the animals and birds and saved their lives. In which maximum 161 calls have come from Animal Rescue. While 149 calls have been received to rescue the birds.
Fire control room officer Somveer told that life is life after all, whether it is of a person, an animal or a bird. It is our duty that no matter what kind of call is received, our team leaves no stone unturned to complete it with full devotion by reaching the spot. Many times birds are rescued by reaching the spot only with small fire engines, but sometimes big vehicles have to be called on the spot. In which there is a ladder of 30 to 40 meters. Using it, the birds are then rescued from the tree.
On Thursday too, two such big cases came to the fore in Gokulpuri and Shahdara areas in which big vehicles had to be used. Usually at least 6 and at most a dozen cases of bird rescue are coming in front of the control room daily.
It is noteworthy that the small fire extinguishing vehicle fire tender costs around 50 lakhs and the cost of the biggest vehicle TTL is around 1.5 crores. These vehicles are also used in bird rescue, and the fire department team is saving the lives of about 600 birds and animals every month.
