Former presidential candidate and business magazine owner Steve Forbes said warned Democrats “will be the Grinch that stole Christmas” if they win in the midterm elections.
Forbes told host John Catsimatidis in an interview airing Sunday on AM 970 in New York that he fears the possible fallout of a Democratic Congress because they’ll target President Trump.
“You’re going to see countless investigations into president and his businesses,” he said.
“They’re going to try to destroy him. They will at some point push for impeachment, even though they haven’t found yet found anything on which to impeach him. Saying they don’t like him is not an impeachable offense.”
Forbes also expressed concern a Democratic victory would mean a new tax bill would be infeasible.
“You’re not going to get a tax bill,” he said.
“They’re going to try to disrupt deregulation, which has helped the American economy so much. And they’ll try to raise taxes. So if you’ve enjoyed a tax cut, forget it! They will be the Grinch that stole Christmas.”
Forbes also spoke about the potential of a trade deal with China being reached, indicating that there’s still much to do.
“We’re not going to get an agreement before November,” he said. “That’s going to be a tough one.”
