Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan may appear before Lahore High Court

Imran Khan is likely to appear in the Lahore High Court on Monday in connection with cases related to the violence that broke out after the former prime minister’s arrest and the burning of a corps commander’s house. Khan can appear in the Lahore High Court. Despite being granted bail on Friday, Khan had returned to his Lahore residence on Saturday after spending hours in the Islamabad High Court premises fearing re-arrest.

The Islamabad High Court had granted bail to 70-year-old Khan, barring him from arrest in all cases registered after May 9, and asked him to approach the Lahore High Court on May 15. Khan was arrested on May 9 by the National Accountability Bureau in the Al Qadir Trust case. The Supreme Court declared Khan’s arrest from the Islamabad High Court premises illegal and referred the matter to the High Court.
