Former Shiv Sena MLA Suryakant Desai passed away on Friday at the age of 95 in Dombivali in Maharashtra’s Thane district. His relative gave this information.
Desai won the 1995 election from the Parel assembly seat in central Mumbai. A member of his family said Desai had breathing complaints and was admitted to a hospital here on Thursday.
According to the family member, he was being shifted to another hospital on Friday with a ventilator but he died during this.
His son said that the ambulance in which he was being taken developed some glitch midway and had to be pushed some distance.
He said he plans to file a police case against the hospital and the ambulance provider for negligence.
