G-20 tourism working group meeting to be held in Siliguri from April 1

The second meeting of the G-20 Tourism Working Group will begin on April 1 in Siliguri city of West Bengal. Officials told on Sunday that preparations are being finalized for this meeting. The representatives of G20 countries will stay at a resort in Siliguri.

In this meeting, representatives of G-20 countries, guest countries and international organizations will discuss in depth the five priorities of the tourism sector. During the three-day event, international delegates will be able to witness the art and culture of West Bengal. The first meeting of the Tourism Working Group was held in February in Kutch, Gujarat.

In that meeting, five priorities for the tourism sector were identified – Green Tourism, Digitization, Skilling, Tourism MSME and Destination Management. On this occasion, the Ministry of Tourism will also organize a program ‘Adventure Tourism as a means to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals’.

Apart from this, a one-day event will also be organized for the domestic tourism industry.
