Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, announced that their business, Godrej Tooling, has partnered with Renmac to collaborate on Machinery & Plant (M&P) projects for Railways and Metro Rail. With this tie-up, Godrej & Boyce will now also be able to bid for all major projects from design to construction for the Railways. The company has been a partner of Indian Railways for more than 15 years.
Godrej Tooling has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Renmac to develop workshop equipment. This collaboration will bring in the latest technology for the rail industry from Europe and other developed countries and make it indigenous to India. With the Indian Railways announcing its plans to introduce modern trains like the Vande Bharat and subsequently investing in new workshops and depots, Godrej & Boyce aims to provide technical solutions to the Indian Railways. The company expects to capture 20-30 per cent market share in this segment in the next 5 years.

Godrej Tooling and Renmac will have a strong partnership of ten years. This alliance will contribute to the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative by developing depot equipment, which is an import substitute. Godrej Tooling supplies jigs and fixtures, automation solutions and workshop equipment to railway workshops and metro depots.
