Gujarat: Rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar received torrential rains of up to an inch accompanied by lightning and strong winds, causing water to flood the streets. The unseasonal rain accompanied by thunder, flooded the low-lying areas.

After being the hottest city in the state on Sunday, Bhavnagar has been witnessing unprecedented rains for the last two days. After facing unbearable humid heat amidst clouds since Tuesday morning, it suddenly rained late in the evening. After a break of a few minutes, the heavy rain started again with strong wind blowing. Due to unseasonal rains three to four times from 6 pm to 8.30 pm, the weather became rainy in the summer season. Rivers of rain water were seen flowing from the roads.

Unseasonal rain accompanied by lightning, thunder and strong wind disrupted power supply in many areas of the city. When the weather cooled down due to rain, the residents got relief from cold and heat. Due to the unseasonal rains, people living in low-lying areas and those with mud houses had to face trouble. The maximum temperature dropped by 6.3 degrees Celsius to 37.2 degrees Celsius in the last 48 hours due to unseasonal rains that started two days ago. The humidity in the atmosphere was recorded at 62 percent on Wednesday. While the wind speed was 38 km per hour.
