Cadres and members of pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam have not started attacking those who were present when Hefazat leader Mamunul Haque was caught with Jannat Ara Jharna, during their secret sexual rendezvous at Royal Resort in Narayanganj city.
According to media reports, a number of cadres, leaders and activists of Hefazat-e-Islam attacked Narayanganj’s local journalist Habibur Rahman, who went at Royal Resort to gather information on Mamunul’s sex scandal. Attackers mercilessly assaulted Rahman and while mercilessly beating him, they took video of and later published it on social media with warning stating, “Hefazat-e-Islam will take revenge of the insult of Mamunul Haque”.
In that video, it is seen that Mamunul’s followers are insulting and physically assaulting journalist Habibur Rahman. One of them says, you have to apologize to Huzur (Mamunul Haque) so that Huzur forgives you. Another said, you will say, I apologize to Huzur (Mamunul Haque). I made a mistake by going there as a journalist. As Rahman did not apologize, Hefazat-e-Islam cadres dragged him to roadside and attempted to murder. As the attackers continued mercilessly beating the journalist, his younger brother Mofazzal Hossain inform the police.
Journalist Rahman is admitted at Sonargaon Upazilla Health Complex in critical condition.
A case has already been lodged.
Hefazat-e-Islam prepares hitlist
According to credible sources, at the instruction of Mamunul Haque, Hefazat-e-Islam has prepared a hitlist, which comprises journalists of several media outlets, including a popular news channel.

But, a shrewd Mamunul falsely claimed the woman to be his wife.
According to eye witnesses, Allama Mamumul Haque, a Deobandi Islamist scholar in Bangladesh, and Join Secretary General of Hezafat-e-Islam was caught by a mob when he was spending private time with a female at a luxurious resort in Sonargaon area under Narayanganj district. Mamunul is also the Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, a political party promoting Caliphate rule.
According to a credible source, Mamunul Haque and his wife’s family are connected to Jamaat-e-Islami, while the entire family is under Jamaat’e heavy influence. The source further added that Mamunul Haque has been maintaining links with BNP leader Mahmudur Rahman and several influential leaders of the party, including Tarique Rahman.
