A new suburban station “Maryina Roshcha” of the second Moscow Central Diameter “MTsD-2” was opened in Moscow. On Thursday, March 2, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced this on his Telegram channel.

“Today we have taken another step in the development of another transport direction — the surface metro. A new suburban station “Maryina Roshcha” MCD-2 was opened, ”the city news agency quoted the official as saying.

According to the mayor, now about 130 thousand residents of the Meshchansky and Maryina Roshcha districts will be able to change their usual routes and save up to 20% of travel time, writes NSN. In addition, the 14th interchange station appeared for MCD-2 passengers. After the launch of the station, according to Sobyanin, the metro station of the same name will be unloaded.

The Mayor stressed that Maryina Roshcha MCD-2 is a modern suburban railway station, which will be convenient for everyone, including people with limited mobility and passengers with children. Elevators and escalators have been installed at the station, and the elevated vestibule will operate as a pedestrian crossing between the two parts of the district.

It is also planned to improve the territory near the station, where it is planned to build a passage with bicycle paths, new pedestrian crossings and parking lots, the website writes.

At the moment Maryina Roshcha transport hub is one of the largest in the capital. With the launch of MCD-4, two MCD lines, stations of the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya subway line and BKL, ground transport will be combined there, notes ‘Moscow 24’.

Moscow plans to launch new MCD-3 and MCD-4 routes in 2023. New diameters will connect the Kiev and Smolensk directions, the channel notes “360”.

On March 1, the Big Circle Line (BKL) of the metro was launched in Moscow. Its total length is 70 km (31 stations and three depots). Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the BCL via video link.
