Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced on Wednesday evening that his country and the Indian government have finalized the Australia-India Education Qualifications Recognition Mechanism. Albanese officially announced at an event that Australia’s Deakin University will set up an international branch campus in GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

“There has been significant progress in our bilateral education ties. I am pleased to inform you that we have finalized the Australia-India Education Qualifications Recognition Mechanism.”

Albanese said, “The new mechanism means that if you are an Indian student and are studying or have studied in Australia, your hard-earned degree will be recognized when you return home. If you are a member of the large Indian diaspora group in Australia (500,000 and growing), you will feel more confident that your Indian qualification will be recognized in Australia.”
