Istanbul terrorist attackers may face up to 3,000 years in prison

The perpetrator of the November terrorist attack in the center of Istanbul could be sentenced to up to 3,000 years in prison. The agency writes about this on March 6 Anadolu.

“The investigation into the case has been completed. The 13th Criminal Court of Istanbul has scheduled the first hearings in the case on May 9-10-11, in which 36 people are accused, including the perpetrator of the terrorist attack, Ahlam al-Bashir.

It is noted that in relation to Ahlam al-Bashir, Turkish law enforcement agencies requested seven life sentences with aggravating circumstances, as well as imprisonment for a term of 1949 to 3009 years.

She is charged under such articles as “creating or directing a terrorist organization”, “premeditated murder by means of an explosion”, “possession of dangerous substances”, “deliberate murder of a child by means of a deliberate explosion” and others.

It is known that 123 people appear as victims in the indictment against al-Bashir.

A major terrorist attack took place in Istanbul in November 2022. It is known that the explosion occurred on the pedestrian Istiklal Street, popular with tourists. The explosion killed six people and injured 81 others. Among the victims were three Russian citizens. After that, 50 suspects of involvement in the terrorist act were detained.
