Meloni will attend the 8th Raisina Dialogue as the chief guest and keynote speaker starting on Thursday evening. She will also meet External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. India and Italy are celebrating 75 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.

The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying that the multi-faceted bilateral relationship between India and Italy is based on shared cultural values, commitment to promote economic development, cooperation in green energy, science and technology and defense sector, and common stance on regional and global issues. The two countries are also closely cooperating in various multilateral fora, the statement said. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will co-chair a commercial roundtable on Thursday.
