Police stopped the last rites being performed by the family members in a hurry. Let us tell you that the body of Kalyani Kumari (17 years), daughter of Raj Mishthan Bhandar, owner of Raj Mishthan Bhandar located in Panchfedi Chowk, was found hanging from a towel in her toilet under suspicious circumstances.
Rukmani Devi, the mother of the deceased told that on the night of Thursday, May 11, all of us had dinner together. After this she went to the terrace of the house to sleep with her husband Rajkumar Prasad. On coming Friday morning, Kalyani was not in her room. On searching, it was found that Kalyani’s dead body was hanging from a pot in the pipe of the asbestos seat of the toilet.
The family members hurriedly started taking the girl’s body to the cremation ground without informing the police. On the information of the villagers, Barkatha police station in-charge Vikram Kumar reached the spot along with the force. By then the last rites had been done. The station in-charge has sent the remains of the burnt dead body for forensic examination for evidence from the spot. After this, the police went to the residence of the deceased in Panchfedi and conducted an investigation. Took the setup box of CCTV installed in the house with her.
Rajababu, the brother of the deceased, told in front of the police that we brothers and sisters were always beaten up by the elders of the family. I was also assaulted on May 7 last. After that I went to my maternal uncle’s house in village Achaljamu Vishnugarh out of fear. This morning I got information on my maternal uncle’s mobile that Kalyani Kumari has died. In this regard, station in-charge Vikram Kumar told that the matter is being investigated. Strictest action will be taken against the culprits after the incident.
