‘Mann Ki Baat’ has given form of celebration to positivity and public participation: PM Modi

New Delhi, 30 April (Hindustan Times). Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ aired its 100th episode on Sunday. The Prime Minister described the program as a reflection of the feelings and expressions of the countrymen. He said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has given their positivity and public participation a form of celebration.

The Prime Minister said that each episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has been special. The journey of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ started on 3 October 2014, on the day of Vijayadashami. After this, gradually ‘Mann Ki Baat’ became a unique festival to celebrate the goodness and positivity of the countrymen. Referring to the issues raised in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister said that every issue raised in it became a mass movement. There was a big contribution of the people behind this. These subjects included ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, ‘Clean India’, ‘Love for Khadi’, Prakriti Ki Baat, ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ and Amrit Sarovar. On the other hand, the arrival of US President Barack Obama in Mann Ki Baat became a topic of discussion all over the world.

The Prime Minister described ‘Mann Ki Baat’ as a great medium to learn from the qualities of others and remembered his mentor Laxmanrao Honest. He said that Vakil Sahib (Laxmanraoji) always used to say that we should worship the qualities of others.

The Prime Minister said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has given him a platform to connect with the people of India. After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, he used to feel empty. They cannot live cut off from the countrymen. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ gave him a solution to this challenge and created a way to connect with people. ‘Mann Ki Baat’ is a journey for him from ‘Swa to Samashti’ and ‘Aham to Vayam’. During this, the Prime Minister recalled the topics raised in ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Also said that the tourism sector in India is growing very fast. It is very important to keep our natural resources, rivers, mountains, reservoirs and places of pilgrimage clean. This also gives a boost to the tourism sector and other industries.

The Prime Minister also shared the special message received from the UNESCO Director General during the event and said that India is making commendable efforts in the field of education. He said that India has an ancient tradition of preserving and promoting education and culture. The National Education Policy and the option of teaching in regional languages ​​are important steps in this direction. During this, he thanked the entire team of All India Radio, ‘MyGov’, the media and the people of the country for the success of ‘Mann Ki Baat’.

The Prime Minister also interacted with some of the people who contributed to bring alive ‘Mann Ki Baat’ during the programme. During this, he interacted with Sunil Jaglan of Haryana who started the ‘Selfie with Daughter’ campaign. Thanking the Prime Minister, Sunil said that because of him, the smile on the faces of the country’s daughters is continuously increasing.

The Prime Minister also spoke to Manzoor Ahmed, who is involved in the business of ‘pencil slates’ of Jammu and Kashmir. He told that due to the inclusion of the Prime Minister in ‘Mann Ki Baat’, his business has grown tremendously and now more than 200 people are working here. He also interacted with Vijayashanti Devi of Manipur, who makes clothes from lotus fibers. Who told that due to ‘Mann Ki Baat’ her business has increased a lot and now she has also become an exporter.

The Prime Minister also interacted with Pradeep Sangwan associated with the ‘Healing Himalayas’ campaign in the program. He told that due to the mention of his campaign in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ in 2020, today he is able to collect 5 tonnes of garbage from different places every day. Before appearing on the programme, he was considering leaving the campaign. Appreciating their work, the Prime Minister said that they are doing spiritual practice in true sense on the peaks of the Himalayas. Due to his efforts, mountaineers are now posting photos related to cleanliness.

The Prime Minister ended the episode with the mantra of ‘Charaiveti-Charaiveti’, that is, keep walking, keep walking, derived from the Upanishads. He said that this positivity of the country will take it further and to new heights in Amrit Kaal.
