Minister’s statement on Bhavnagar dummy case – If someone is saved, a case of extortion will be registered

Bhavnagar / Mehsana / Ahmedabad, 22 April (Hindustan Times). Police investigation is going on in the Bhavnagar dummy scandal related to the placement of fake candidates in competitive examinations. There have been many arrests regarding this. A social worker named Yuvraj Singh, who exposed the Bhavnagar dummy scandal, has also been arrested. He is accused of taking money for not revealing the names of some people involved in the dummy scandal. Yuvraj’s brother-in-law Kanbha Gohil alias Krishnadev Singh was also arrested in Surat on Saturday. State Government Spokesperson Minister Hrishikesh Patel has given a statement that in this case a case of extortion will be registered for trying to save someone.

Giving the first reaction in the matter, the minister said that the evidence with the police, if there is truth in it, will definitely be investigated. Regarding the arrest of Yuvraj Singh late on Friday night, Minister Patel said that do not name anyone, or try to save him, then a complaint of extortion is registered. If the police have evidence, if there is truth then there will definitely be an investigation. An inquiry will also be conducted regarding the allegations of Yuvraj Singh. Minister Hrishikesh Patel said in Mehsana that the police is probing those involved in the dummy incident. In this case, on the one hand, Yuvraj Singh talks about the society regarding the dummy scandal and other issues, and on the other hand, if he does not name anyone and tries to save them, then naturally a complaint of extortion is registered.

The social worker who exposed the dummy scandal in competitive exams is now himself an accused. A day before, after about 10 hours of questioning, the Bhavnagar police arrested him late on Friday night. Yuvraj Singh is accused of taking lakhs of rupees for not disclosing the names of those involved in the dummy scandal. In the FIR against him, other sections including extortion have been imposed. On the first summons of the police, Yuvraj Singh had refused to appear saying that he was ill. Later, the Bhavnagar police issued a second summons asking Yuvraj to appear, after which he appeared on Friday.
