A new video streaming platform with the aim of catering Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, African, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic and Bangla contents with an English sub-title will be launched in January next year. According to information, a large production house and content provider in Bangladesh has taken the initiative of this project.

Trident Screen, the video streaming platform will be available to the subscribers free of cost for the first three years. This platform will bring together content from a number of countries with English sub-title with the goal of catering quality contents such as single-episode drama, television series, feature films, and short films to its audience.

The purpose of this platform would be introducing the contents of various nations and languages to the global audience, which it believes would play an important role in cultural exchange amongst the nations.

Trident Screen is a brainchild of internationally acclaimed multi-award-winning journalist and media personality Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury. Detailing the ambition of this venture, Mr. Choudhury said, during this age of advanced technology and when the world is paying the highest emphasis on connectivity, it is essential to make a platform where people would be able to find content from a large number of nations and languages. It will play important role in promoting inter-culture and inter-language interactions, while it also will help various entertainment industries in the world getting a platform of spreading their contents to a huge size of audience throughout the world.

Shoaib Choudhury said, video streaming platforms such as Netflix, for example, are basically being dominated by Indian contents, while it has very limited availability of Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Thai, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, African, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic and Bangla contents. On Netflix, people get mostly English, Spanish and Hindi contents, although there are quality contents from many other countries. Similarly, Amazon, for example also lacks in giving a wider catalog to its subscribers.

According Mr. Choudhury, Trident Screen will be welcoming the participation of various entertainment and production companies from around the world, both as content providers as well as stakeholders.
