Mumbai’s Thane West area was the most searched for 2022 on real estate portal Housing.com’s platform, while Bengaluru’s Whitefield and Delhi-NCR’s Noida Extension came second and third, respectively.
Housing.com on Monday released the list of most searched localities for housing on its platform during the calendar year 2022. Accordingly, Kolkata’s New Town and Mumbai’s Mira Road East stood at the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Ahmedabad’s Chandkheda area ranked sixth in online search while Pune’s Wakad area ranked seventh and Pune’s Kharghar eighth. Ahmedabad’s Gota and Vastral areas were ranked ninth and tenth respectively in this list.
The residential sector portal said that during January to December 2022, people searched the most for residential properties in these locations on its platform. Of these, 60 per cent people wanted to buy a house to live in these areas, while the rest wanted to take a house on rent.
According to the statement, the highest number of searches were done for houses priced below Rs 50 lakh. Dhruv Agarwal, Group CEO, Housing.com, said the home buying spree is expected to continue despite the increase in interest rates in the past months.
