Text books have been distributed to 89.72 percent students in government schools of Bihar till Thursday. However, the book distribution exercise is very slow in Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, East Champaran, Kaimur and Khagaria districts. These are the districts where even after reaching 100% books, still less books have been distributed.
Show cause notice to district program officers
State Program Officer Kumar Arvind Sinha has considered this matter of not distributing books as serious. Considering the indifference and negligence of the District Program Officers (DPOs) of these districts towards the program, a show cause notice has been issued to them. It has been written in the letter that they should tell the state office that even after the books are available at the block level, why the books have not been distributed till now.
100% books distributed to children in Buxar, Shivhar, Araria, Banka and Vaishali
According to the information, so far only 59.48 percent children in Darbhanga, 67.80 percent in Bhagalpur, 69.34 percent in East Champaran and 76.73 percent children in Khagaria have been distributed books. According to official information, books have been distributed to 100 percent children in Buxar, Shivhar and Vaishali districts of Bihar. So far more than 99 percent books have been distributed in Jamui and Munger.

More than 80 percent books have been distributed in total 28 districts. It is surprising that due to special reasons not even a single book has been distributed in the schools of East Champaran. In fact, the book distribution agencies here at the block level have not been able to deliver even East Champaran books. Here only 1.77 percent of the books have reached the block level. That too could not be distributed.
