Notorious jihadist outfit Al Qaeda has once again issued a statement calling upon Indian Muslims to join Islamist jihad against. This statement came almost a year after Al Qaeda kingpin Ayman al-Zawahiri had asked the militants in Kashmir to step up terrorist attacks against India.

Earlier Zawahiri, who is the successor to Osama bin Laden called upon the Indian Muslim terrorists to “single-mindedly focus on inflicting unrelenting blows on the Indian Army and government, so as to bleed the Indian economy and make India suffer sustained losses in manpower and equipment”.

According to credible intelligence sources, on May 4, 2020, Yemen’s Al Qaeda in Arab Peninsula (AQAP) issued a statement accusing Indians of being part of a global war on Muslims. This statement comes days after the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Kuwait government, and many Arab activists called India Islamophobic. The anti-India propaganda branding it as Islamophobic was mainly initiated by Pakistan and it seems, now jihadist outfits like Al Qaeda also have joined this race.

The latest statement issued by AQAP proves all of the anti-India activities are actually related to Kashmir issue and not the alleged ill-treatment of Muslims in India or the so-called Islamophobia.

By and large, the anti-India statements in the Arab countries were a result of Pakistani propaganda against India over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and Kashmir and also because of the widespread criticism of Tablighi Jamaat Islamic proselytizers for being a super-spreader of the novel coronavirus infection in India.

Denouncing India’s Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the AQAP, which perpetrated the September 11 terror attacks in the United States, alleged that the Indian government had taken several steps against Muslims.

United States considers AQAP as the most active and dangerous branch of Al Qaeda.
