Opposition leaders on Thursday formed a human chain in the Parliament House complex, demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into alleged irregularities in the Adani Group.

Holding placards and raising slogans, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) leader TR Balu, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav, National Conference patron Farooq Abdullah, Shiv Sena (Uddhav) leaders Priyanka Chaturvedi and Arvind Sawant Opposition MPs also demonstrated.

Deputy Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi said, ‘All opposition parties have united to demand an inquiry against the Adani Group. It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to save his dear friend Adani.

He said the opposition leaders were stopped by Delhi Police from marching to the office of the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday. “Opposition leaders are not being allowed to raise this issue in Parliament. Our microphones are switched off.’
