Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the ‘Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research’ (SMSIMSR) and the ‘Sri Sathya Sai Rajeshwari Memorial Block’ set up for free services at Sathya Sai village of Muddenahalli in Chikkaballapur district.
An official release said that the SMSIMSR hospital has been set up by ‘Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence’.
It states that SMSIMSR, located in a rural area and established with a vision of non-commercialization of medical education and healthcare, will provide access to medical education and quality medical care completely free of cost to all. According to the release, this institute will start its functioning from the academic year 2023.
