The Ministry of External Affairs announced this. In the first leg of his visit, Modi will visit the Japanese city of Hiroshima from May 19 to May 21, where he will attend the annual summit of the G-7, a group of countries with advanced economies of the world. During this, Modi will express his views on topics like peace, stability and prosperity of the earth, and food, fertilizers and energy security with the participating countries in the G-7 sessions.

Will travel from Japan to Port Moresby

The ministry said in a statement that Modi will travel from Japan to Port Moresby, where he will jointly address the third summit of the Forum for India-Pacific Islands Cooperation (FIPIC) with Prime Minister James Marape of Papua New Guinea on May 22. will host. Let us tell you that this will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Papua New Guinea. Launched in 2014, FIPIC comprises India and 14 Pacific island countries – Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Samoa, Vanuatu, Niue, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Marshall Islands, Cook Islands, Palau , Nauru and the Solomon Islands are included.

Will be in Sydney from 22 to 24 May

In the third and final leg of his visit, PM Modi will be in Sydney from May 22 to 24 to attend the Quad Summit. The Quad summit is being hosted by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. US President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio will also participate in this conference. On Modi’s visit to Japan, the Ministry of External Affairs said that he was visiting the country at the invitation of Kishida. Japan is hosting its summit as the current chair of the G-7 group.

Discussion on resilient infrastructure and development cooperation

The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement – during the summit, the Prime Minister will express his views on topics such as peace, stability and prosperity of an everlasting planet. Apart from this, he will discuss food, fertilizer and energy security, health, gender equality, climate change and environment, resilient infrastructure and development cooperation. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with Kishida. He will also hold bilateral meetings with some of the other participating leaders on the sidelines of the summit. In Papua New Guinea too, Modi will have bilateral engagements including meetings with Governor-General Sir Bob Dade and Prime Minister James Marape.

Bilateral meeting with Albanese on 24 May

The Ministry of External Affairs said that the Quad Summit will provide an opportunity for leaders to exchange views on developments in the Indo-Pacific region and advance their vision for a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific. During his visit to Australia, Modi will hold a bilateral meeting with Albanese on 24 May. Prime Minister Modi will interact with CEOs of Australian companies and business leaders at a community event in Sydney on May 23 and will also address the Indian community.
