The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said on March 2 that the risks of the spread of new enhanced pathogens exist due to the activities of US-funded biological laboratories.

“There are certainly risks of the spread of new, unknown, enhanced pathogens. It is also striking that there are publications in which they do not hesitate to declare that they are studying pathogens, enhancing their properties. In my opinion, this is a clear violation of the convention, ”she quotes “RIA News”.

As Popova noted, the presence of such laboratories is a risk both for the population of the countries in which they are located and for other states, since infections have no borders.

According to her, the countries in which such laboratories appear are at risk of losing or have already lost their biological sovereignty. Because they don’t understand what’s going on in these labs.

Earlier, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his speech to the Federal Assembly, indicated that the United States and NATO were deploying their army bases and secret biological laboratories near the Russian border, mastering the theater of military operations.

On February 7, Konstantin Kosachev, co-chairman of the parliamentary commission to investigate the activities of American biological laboratories in Ukraine, said that the Federation Council and the State Duma would consider an appeal to Russian colleagues on February 15 on the issue of American laboratories located around the world.

Prior to this, on February 6, Kosachev said that there is a lot of attention around the world to US biological research in Ukraine, and it is only growing due to Russia’s ongoing work on this issue. According to him, it will no longer be possible for American customers to hide the truth about their activities.

On April 14, the Russian Defense Ministry spoke about the existence in Ukraine of a network of biological laboratories operating under the Pentagon program. According to the department, American scientists conducted tests of potentially dangerous biological drugs on patients in the Kharkiv psychiatric hospital from 2019 to 2021.
