Master of Social Work and Master of Human Resource Management students currently studying in the final year of Social Work Faculty of MS University have got record breaking placements in the campus interview. This year the average package offered to students is Rs 7 lakh. Last year the average salary package for students was Rs 7 lakh.
Dean of Faculty Prof. According to Bhavna Mehta, out of a total of 92 students in MSW and MHRM, 66 have been offered jobs by various companies so far. Till now around 40 companies have come for campus interview. With the arrival of five to ten more companies, the placement figure is likely to touch 100 per cent by the start of the new academic year. Last year, 92 per cent students were placed in both these courses. The average salary package for the students of the Faculty of Social Work ranks first among all social work colleges in Gujarat.
This time a student of MSW got the highest package of Rs 14 lakh. Which is also a record. Whereas in MHRM course, a student got a package of Rs 13.5 lakh. There are also 10 to 12 students who have rejected the job offers. Because they do not want to leave Vadodara city and go to work elsewhere. The students have been placed in various positions like Social Development Officer, Human Resource Manager, Community Social Responsibility Officer. There has also been a jump in the number of companies offering summer internships this year.
