March 7 – BLiTZ. A study by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) showed that in 2023, starting salaries for young IT professionals in the United States after completing a bachelor’s degree will decrease by 4% compared to the previous year. A possible reason for this is a recalibration among tech companies that have offered higher salaries in the past.

However, IT graduates will continue to take second place in the ranking of young professionals in terms of salaries. In 2023, engineering graduates will receive the highest starting salary of $74.4 thousand per year, which is 0.7% higher than in 2022.

Meanwhile, tech companies that previously expanded their workforce during the pandemic have already begun laying off people, resulting in more than 100,000 layoffs in the first months of 2023 alone.
