March 3 – BLiTZ. Residents of China wrote a petition addressed to the United States. In the contents of the document, they demanded the return of a giant panda rented to an American zoo. The petition gained 150,000 signatures from caring “animal advocates”. The animal has been living in the zoo for 20 years. According to Chinese activists, the giant panda is being bullied in Memphis, restricting its diet. The park administration denies the accusations, claiming that the animal’s immune system is undermined.
The agreement concluded between China and the United States will be valid until April 2023. After this period, the rented panda will return to its homeland.
