The incidence of COVID-19, influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) in Russia has begun to decline. Representatives of Rospotrebnadzor shared such data in an interview with Lenta.ru.

Interlocutors of journalists noted that in the eighth week of 2023, 84,000 new cases of COVID-19 infection were detected in the state. Experts emphasized that genovariants of the Omicron strain have been predominant up to the present moment.

In addition, they noted that the incidence of influenza and SARS fell by 27 percent compared to last week. At the moment, 756 thousand cases have been identified in Russia, Rospotrebnadzor said.

In addition, representatives of the department noted that influenza viruses circulate in the state, accounting for almost 58 percent of positive cases of infection. At the same time, influenza B viruses are detected in 86 percent of cases of influenza.

“Of other respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology, RS viruses, rhinoviruses and seasonal coronaviruses remain the leaders,” Rospotrebnadzor emphasized.

Earlier, the BLiTZ reported that the number of new cases of COVID-19 detected in Russia over the past day exceeded nine thousand. This follows from the data of the stopcoronavirus.rf portal on Monday, February 27.
