Russian Foreign Ministry warns about the threat of provocations by Kiev near Pridnestrovie

Russia is concerned about reports that a Ukrainian provocation with radioactive substances could take place not far from Transnistria, where the Kiev regime is already stoking tensions. This is stated in published on Wednesday, March 1, the statement of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat pointed to the available information about the delivery on February 16 and 19 to the ports of the Odessa region of radioactive materials with English markings. According to her, the Ukrainian public, represented by bloggers and media representatives, expressed fears that we could talk about some components for equipping ammunition and even making a “dirty bomb”.

“This information received a wide response among the residents of Ukraine and the Eastern European countries bordering on it. It cannot but cause concern that such events are taking place in the immediate vicinity of Transnistria, around which the Kiev regime deliberately escalates tension, ”Zakharova noted.

She also drew attention to the silence of Kyiv, which does not comment on this information in the media and social networks.

“Apparently, the regime [президента Украины Владимира] Zelensky, in order to receive military and financial assistance from the West, is ready to use any pretext to escalate the conflict. He does not care that such adventures can lead to catastrophic consequences and mass deaths of people,” the diplomat concluded.

On the eve of the head of the troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection of the RF Armed Forces Igor Kirillov said that the United States and its accomplices intend to organize a provocation in Ukraine using toxic chemicals, blaming Russia for this.

He said that on February 10, 11 wagons with irritating ammunition were unloaded in Kramatorsk. Kirillov added that in the same month, the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center planned to ship a large batch of personal protective equipment to Ukraine, as well as 600,000 doses of antidotes for poisonous substances.

In addition, Igor Kirillov said that the United States retained samples of the poisonous substance BZ, the complete destruction of which was announced more than 30 years ago. According to him, back in 1990, Washington reported about the disposal of about 50 tons of the BZ substance, but at the same time the United States left its samples.

Prior to this, on February 14, the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters of the Russian Federation for Humanitarian Response reported that Ukraine, with the support of the United States and Europe, on the eve of the XI special session of the UN General Assembly, was preparing a large-scale provocation to accuse Russia of violating nuclear safety. They clarified that a provocation is being prepared in Chernobyl and its environs to accuse the Russian Federation of an alleged “gross violation” of the Convention on Nuclear Safety during a special military operation (SVO).

On the same day, Volodymyr Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, said that the Ukrainian authorities were preparing a provocation to discredit the operation of the Zaporozhye NPP. According to him, the provocation is planned to focus on Russia’s alleged inability to guarantee safety in the operation of the power plant, citing the low water level in the Kakhovka reservoir and the alleged threat to the reactor cooling system.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
