Mamunul Haque, a scandalous leader of pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam has been finally arrested in connection with a case filed over vandalism with Dhaka city’s Mohammedpur Police Station in 2020. He will be shown arrested in several more cases, which had already been filed against him following Hefazat’s countrywide mayhem and terrorist activities during March 2021.

According to media reports, joint teams of police and detectives raided Jamia Rahmania Arabia Madrasa in Mohammadpur on Sunday and apprehended Mamunul Haque, who has been in the limelight due to some recent controversies, including series of sex scandals.

Detective Branch (DB) officials said a huge number of law enforcers surrounded the madrasa around 12:30pm. Teachers and students initially tried to obstruct them during the raid. Later, Mamunul was detained from a room on the first floor of the madrassa.

DB officials said Mamunul is also an accused in a number of cases filed over the Hefazat mayhem in the capital on May 5, 2013. He will be shown arrested in the old cases at first and later will be taken into remand for interrogation in other cases as well, they added.

Mamunul Haque’s nasty personal life

While we know, rape and molestation has become a regular phenomenon in all the madrassas in Bangladesh and the world, Islamist leader like Mamunul Haque are continuing their notoriety as sexual predators, by targeting various females in the society. Although after being caught red-handed with Jannat Ara Jharna at the resort in Narayanganj district, Mamunul and his Hefazat-e-Islam cohorts frantically tried to mislead the people with multiple stories and claims, finally, Mamunul Haque appeared live on Facebook and acknowledged of having “multiple wives”, despite the fact – there is no official evidence of his multiple marriages. Instead, according to reconds, Mamunul Haque’s only wife is Amina Tayyiba and even Jannat Ara Jharna is just his sexual partner, without any legal bondage. Media reports and Jannat Ara Jharna have accused Mamunul of spoiling lives of women with false promises, just because, after emerging as one of the top leaders of Hefazat, Mamunul Haque is becoming increasingly wealthy.

A source close to Mamunul Haque told this correspondent, this Hefazat-e-Islam leader’s monthly expenditure is more than two hundred thousand takas. He spends lavishly on various women in buying sexual company.

Hefazat-e-Islam denounces democracy and promotes Caliphate

Following Hefazat-e-Islam leader Mamunul Haque’s secret sex rendezvous being exposed, the Islamist group has now openly denounced democracy and demanded “death penalty” of the members of Bangladesh Police for taking legal action on hundreds of its members and activists who took part in countrywide anarchism, vandalism and terrorist activities in the name of opposing Bangladesh visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Hefazat poses gravest threat to Bangladesh and the region

Ultra-Islamist and pro-Caliphate Hefazat-e-Islam (HeI) is taking full preparations in emerging as a political party in Bangladesh, following decisions made by Junaid Babunagari and Mamunul Haque, along with few other top-figures of the organization. It is also learned, following recent countrywide cases of Hefazat’s flexing-muscle in the name of protests, which actually were anarchism, vandalism and terrorist acts, this notorious pro-Caliphate group is looking for establishing branches and franchises in a number of countries, including India, Britain, European nations, Australia, Canada and the US. It may be mentioned here that, HeI, with financial support from Pakistan and Qatar had continued countrywide extreme notoriety during the second half of March 2021, as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bangladesh to join the golden jubilee celebration of independence as well as birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

According to analysts, Hefazat-e-Islam already is a political party, which is working in disguise of a non-political organization, while its goal is to gradually increase its supporter base and also establish its own armed wing, with the notorious agenda of staging an Iran-prototype Islamic revolution in Bangladesh.

Most importantly, more than one-third of Hefazat-e-Islam leaders, who succeeded in seizing control of this Qawmi madrassa-based organization in November 2020, are directly connected to Islamist political parties such as Jamaat-e-Islami as well as militancy groups such as Hizbut Tahrir and Neo-JMB, and those Hefazat leaders took part in the 2018 general election under the platform of BNP-Jamaat alliance.

According to information, the inclusion of leaders of Jamiyat-a-Ulamaye Islam, a component of the 20-party alliance led by the BNP, is the prime example. Thirty-four of its leaders made it to the 151-member new committee of Hefazat-e-Islam.

Jamiyat is registered with the Election Commission in Bangladesh as a political party. In fact, this was for the first time Hefazat made the general secretary of Jamiyat its secretary general, although earlier it was believed, Hefazat-e-Islam would be led by non-political individuals. Six top leaders of Khelafat Majlish (Caliphate Forum), a component of pro-Islamist Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led alliance had also been included in the existing committee of HeI.

At least 16 leaders of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish, four of Islami Oikya Jote (Islami Unity Front) and six of Khelafat Andolon (Caliphate Movement) were accommodated in the Hefazat’s new committee.

Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish and Islami Oikya Jote are also registered with the Election Commission as political parties.

Ever-since the new committee of Hefazat-e-Islam, comprising politicians with direct links with Islamist forces in Bangladesh as well as connections with Qatar, Pakistan and even Afghan Taliban groups, HeI is gradually showing its notorious face of being another version of Al Qaeda and Islamic State (ISIS).
