Sheikh Hasina government doing every to tackle COVID

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would do everything for tackling any kind of disaster, including the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“We will meet all the needs of the people on behalf of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government by dealing with any kind of calamity or disaster, including coronavirus pandemic,” he said.

The minister was speaking at a function organized by the upazila administration at Nesarabad in Pirojpur as the chief guest to provide food aid to the COVID-19-affected families which sought help  by dialing ‘333’.

Later, Rezaul distributed corrugated tins and cash among the affected families.

The minister further said, “Sheikh Hasina’s tenure is a golden chapter in our history.”

No one else in the history of the country has run the country so well and the premier is taking the country forward day by day, he said, adding that she is also developing living standard of the people.

She is helping the people overcome their sufferings and shortages, he said, adding that she is working for the development of the country and for the development of the people, so that Bangladesh can stand high across the globe.

With Nesarabad Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mosharraf Hossain in the chair, the program was attended, among others, by Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Md Sajjad Hossain, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saidur Rahman, Pirojpur District Council Chairman Mohiuddin Maharaj, District Parishad Chief Executive Rebeka Khan and Nesarabad Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Haque as special guests.

Earlier, Rezaul attended  a foundation stone laying programme of a four-storey modern bungalow in Nesharabad Upazila as the chief guest under the arrangement of Pirojpur District Council.

Later, on the occasion of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary, he inspected houses which are build for landless and homeless families in Nesarabad.

He also participated in a tree plantation program as the chief guest there.
