Sheikh Hasina returns home on October 4

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to return home during early hours of October 4, 2022 wrapping up her 18-day official visit to the United Kingdom and the United States. A VVIP chartered flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage left Washington DC on October 2 and arrived at London Stanstead Airport at 7:30 am (local time) for a short stopover en route to Dhaka.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam, Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA Muhammad Imran and Bangladesh Permanent Representative to the UN Muhammad Abdul Muhith saw off the prime minister at the airport in Washington.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem received the prime minister at the airport.

Hasina went to London on September 15 on an official visit to the United Kingdom mainly to attend the Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and a reception hosted by King Charles III.

On September 19, she left London for New York. The prime minister reached New York on September 19.

During her stay in New York, Sheikh Hasina addressed the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 23. She also took part in several events on the sidelines of the UNGA.
