The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk products under the Amul brand, on Saturday announced an increase in milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in the state.

GCMMF sources said that the prices of Amul milk have increased since Saturday across the state, including Saurashtra, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. A 500 ml pack of Amul Gold will now be available at Rs 32, Amul Standard at Rs 29 per 500 ml, Amul Fresh at Rs 26 per 500 ml and Amul Tea-Special at Rs 30 per 500 ml, sources said.

Amul milk prices have been increased for the first time after the assembly elections in Gujarat in December. The GCMMF had earlier increased milk prices by Rs 2 per liter in August last year. However, on February 3, the union had increased the prices of milk by Rs 2 per liter in the rest of the country except Gujarat.
