SIAM Report: Wholesale sales of passenger vehicles increased by 13 percent in April, know the condition of Maruti to Hyundai

SIAM Auto Sales Report: Wholesale sales of domestic passenger vehicles increased by 13 percent year-on-year in April. Industry organization SIAM said that demand remained strong in all segments during this period. As per the data, wholesale sales are expected to increase to 3,31,278 units in April 2023 as compared to 2,93,303 units in April 2022. Wholesale refers to the number of passenger vehicles delivered from companies to dealers.

During this, Maruti Suzuki India sent 1,37,320 vehicles to the dealers. In the same period last year, this figure was 1,21,995 units. Similarly, Hyundai Motor India’s wholesale sales stood at 49,701 units in April as against 44,001 units in the same period a year ago.

SIAM said wholesale sales of two-wheelers grew by 15 per cent to 13,38,588 units in the month under review, as against 11,62,582 units a year ago. Wholesale sales of three-wheelers increased to 42,885 units in the month under review.

Vinod Agarwal, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), said good monsoon rains, among other factors, could help sustain growth in the sector going forward. SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said that the sales of passenger vehicles last month were the highest ever in April of any year. (with language input)
