Sitting in Britain, a jihad funder and convicted criminal has been openly propagating armed ‘revolt’ in Bangladesh with the notorious agenda of unseating the government in the country. According to reports, a sacked military officer from Bangladesh, who fled the country escaping numerous criminal charges who, along with his wife and family members had already been convicted by several courts on charges of terror finance, money laundering, dealing in weapons and counterfeit currency notes has been running an illegal organization named ‘Desh Mukti Biplob’ from the United Kingdom. This notorious criminal has been using social media as well as video-sharing platforms such as YouTube and has been giving instigation to Bangladeshi nationals in waging armed ‘revolt’ against the government. This newspaper has plethora of information on Shahid Uddin Khan, who had earlier declared bounty to anyone who can join suicide missions targeting key figures in Bangladesh government including several senior officials of the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
On September 21, 2021, Shahid Uddin Khan published a post on his Facebook ID calling upon people in Bangladesh to wage armed revolt against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government as well as India and China. Criminal background of Shahid Uddin Khan and his family
On June 14, 2019, the Business Standard in its report titled ‘Intel agencies probe nexus between ex-Bangladeshi officer and Dawood’ said:
Indian intelligence agencies are probing a deep-rooted nexus involving underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and a London-based former Colonel of the Bangladesh army. The agencies suspect that the Bangladeshi army officer, allegedly involved in gun running, has links with Dawood Ibrahim’s underworld activities operating from India’s eastern borders.
What prompted the intelligence agencies to probe the nexus between Dawood and the Bangladeshi army officer was a report published in a leading British daily recently. On May 25, British newspaper The Sunday Times, in an exclusive report, revealed that a former Colonel Md Shahid Uddin Khan had been charged with funding terror groups, arms dealing and money laundering offences in Bangladesh. According to the British newspaper, the former Colonel has political links in Britain and had funded an MP.
Sources said that the former Bangladeshi Colonel migrated to London in 2009 under mysterious circumstances. He is said to have had business operations in Dubai as well as in Britain. As per the latest dossier on the Dawood Ibrahim gang, the D company is involved in smuggling Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) and contraband narcotics. The illegal activities are being operated from Nepal and Bangladesh.
Recently the role of a Pakistan Embassy official in Nepal had come to light in connection with a huge seizure of FICN at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Dawood Ibrahim’s associate Yunus Ansari and three Pakistani nationals were arrested by the Nepal Police in the FICN racket busted on a tip-off by Indian agencies.
Sources said that as of now Indian intelligence agencies were probing the nexus between D company and the former Bangladeshi Colonel relating to fake currency and arms dealing. One of the houses of the former Bangladeshi Colonel in Dhaka was raided in January 2019 by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Bangladesh police. Incriminating documents are said to have been found from ex-Colonel’s place in the raids. IANS made several attempts to approach Md Shahid Uddin in London, but could not make contact with him till the filing of the story.
On the other hand, British journalist Tom Harper, the Home Affairs correspondent for The Sunday Times, who exposed the role of the colonel in his exclusive story, has said in one of his tweets that former Colonel (Md Shahid Uddin) Khan had bought two houses with alleged laundered money, was charged after counter-terror police found arms, fake currency and Jehadist material from his home in Bangladesh. The British journalist, in another tweet, revealed that the Colonel denied allegations about terror funding and said that he was being framed by the Bangladeshi government.
But Shahid Uddin Khan’s claims are outrageously false. In fact, Blitz has exposed how this corrupt individual and members of his family had smuggled-out millions of dollars from Bangladesh.
Md. Shahid Uddin Khan (Army No: BA002428, Course: 8-BMA, Commission Date: 10-06-1983) and his wife and daughters entered Britain with millions of dirty cash.
According to credible sources, in 2009, Shahid Uddin Khan invested millions of pounds in the United Kingdom in exchange of obtaining immigrant status under Visa Tier 1, vide VAF No. 511702. The family had laundered an unknown amount of money and brought that into the United Kingdom via United Arab Emirates and few more countries, while Shahid Uddin Khan had invested over 18 million pounds for buying citizenship under Britain’s scandalous ‘Golden Visa’ scheme.
On January 17, 2019, Dhaka residence of Md. Shahid Uddin Khan was raided by the members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Bangladesh Police. During the raid, CTTC team found illegal weapons, ammunition, IED making materials, counterfeit Bangladeshi and Indian currency bills and jihadist propaganda materials as well as documents about Shahid’s money laundering and terror financing.
According to media reports, four months before the Sri Lanka attacks, ISIS funder Md. Shahid Uddin Khan had sent large amount of money to his Colombo-based jihadist contact via Dubai. Khan has been living in the United Kingdom for last few years along with his family. Sitting in Britain, Khans are continuing various forms of jihadist activities. Recently he has established an organization named ‘Astha’ which aims at unseating democratically elected governments in the world and replace those with Caliphate. Md. Shahid Uddin Khan already has expanded his activities in Sweden and the United States through two of his cohorts.
Shahid Uddin Khan was one of the funders of Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka. According to reports, in January 2019, days before the Easter Sunday terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka, Shahid Uddin Khan used illegal channel in transferring an amount equivalent to ninety-two thousand dollars, which went from Dubai to Colombo.
Shahid Uddin Khan and members of his family pose potential threat to Britain’s internet security, while this jihad financier family are using British soil in continuing numerous forms of jihadist and criminal activities.
It is even alleged that, terror-financer Shahid Uddin Khan has been contacting Al Qaeda as well as Islamic State with the offer of funding terrorist and suicide attacks inside Bangladesh.
