Social media: In February WhatsApp more than 4.5 million while Twitter permanently banned more than 6 million accounts

WhatsApp banned more than 45 lakh Indian accounts in February, which is more than in the month of January. WhatsApp had banned 29 lakh accounts in January, 36 lakh in December and 37 lakh in November. According to the report of WhatsApp between February 1 and 28, 45,97,400 accounts were banned in February. A company spokesperson said that such action is taken in view of user’s safety and complaints received.

Twitter also banned more than 6 lakh accounts

Let us tell you that Twitter has also permanently banned more than 6 lakh accounts which were sharing posts promoting child nudity and sexual activity on the platform. Along with this, Twitter has permanently removed around 1,548 accounts promoting terrorism from the platform.

Action taken under IT rules

This report has to show the details of the complaints received by the company and the action taken on them.
