Srijan Scam Bihar: The Patna High Court has granted anticipatory bail to the then DM of Bhagalpur, KP Ramaiya, in the Srijan scam case. A single bench of Justice Prabhat Kumar Singh directed the lower court to release him on anticipatory bail after hearing the anticipatory bail petition filed by KP Ramaiya.
What did the petitioner tell the court
The court was told by the petitioner that Ramaiya was on the post of DM of Bhagalpur from February 6, 2003 to July 27, 2004. There was no dispute regarding money during his tenure. Nor had he opened any account in the co-operative bank. He said that his name is not there in the FIR registered in Bhagalpur Kotwali Tilkamanjhi police station case number 505/17. When the CBI took over the investigation of this matter and after investigation filed a charge sheet against 28 people and none of the allegations made by the CBI on the DM is true.
Considering his age, Ramaiah was granted anticipatory bail.
Opposing the anticipatory bail plea, the CBI counsel said that the CBI has collected evidence against them in the investigation. In such a situation, anticipatory bail should not be given. In response, it was said that the applicant Ramaiah is 68 years old and is a retired IAS officer. The court granted anticipatory bail to Ramaiya considering the charges leveled against him and his age.

But KP Ramaiya got trapped in the investigation of the famous creation scam of Bhagalpur. KP Ramaiya, who was the DM of Bhagalpur, has serious allegations in the creation scam case and his involvement has also been found in this scam.
