Surat: North Indian Rail Sangharsh Committee handed over memorandum to the director of the railway station

Uttar Bharatiya Rail Sangharsh Samiti submitted a memorandum to the director of Surat railway station, demanding to start a new train for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

It was told in the memorandum that South Gujarat is the main industrial center of the country, in which more than 20 lakh people are employed from all over the country, especially from North India, most of whom are laborers, whose only means of transport is rail. But the number of trains going from Surat to North India is almost negligible compared to the number of passengers. That’s why the passengers are not only forced to go like sheep and goats but they are also exploited, the railway administration is also well aware of this fact.

There are huge waiting lists in all trains including Tapti Ganga for summer season of May-June 2023 which is a proof that number of trains are very inadequate as compared to passengers going towards North India. For the past decade, many other organizations, including the North Indian Rail Sangharsh Samiti, have been fighting for this demand, under which rallies, hundreds of public meetings, Rail Roko movement, siege of the Railway Minister, and conversations with various officials including GM, DRM of Railways, letters at different stages. behavior has been done.

In the past, during the joint meeting of railway officials and North Indian Railway Sangharsh Samiti, the committee was assured by the railway officials that new trains will be operated after the Udhna Jalgaon railway line is double-tracked, but so far no announcement has been made regarding the new train. Has gone to

Trains going towards North India including Tapti Ganga Express, Awadh Express, Surat Bhagalpur Superfast, Bholenagari, Udhna Danapur and all other trains are fitted with low quality coaches and the condition of catering service and cleanliness is also being provided of poor quality. And in the name of tickets for these trains, the passengers are cheated by the touts and with the connivance of railway officials, irregularities are being done in immediate quota, emergency quota, the railway administration has no control over the ticket touts. Along with this, the passengers sitting in the running (normal) compartment of these trains are made to sit in the line. In the name of going back and forth in the line, extortion and extortion of money are done and atrocities are also done by the police, recently one such case has come to the fore.

Shan Khan, a senior member of the Sangharsh Samiti, said that the railway administration is not living up to its promise, instead of starting new regular trains, the railway administration is charging double-triple fare by running special trains during the season, which means that the railway administration They are systematically looting the North Indians. Therefore, we request the railway administration to solve our demands immediately as promised.

On this occasion, senior members of the Sangharsh Samiti Shan Khan, former councilors Bharti Tiwari, Shashi Dubey, Umashankar Mishra, Karuna Shankar Tiwari, Mohan Kanojia, Sunal Sheikh, Santram Prajapati, Ranjit Kanojia, Awadhesh Maurya, Santosh Shukla, Rahul Pandey, Dilip Kanojia, A large number of North Indian pioneers including Mahabali Rajbhar, Kalpesh Kanojia were present.
